Of course our best gift was a surprise from Jade and Dan. Congrats to them as they embark on the greatest adventure! Can't wait to see them in just a few months!

Baby It's Cold Outside!

Not that anything much is going on, but I really felt the need to update.

Halloween and Thanksgiving are passed, and Christmas is right around the corner which means this is probably my last post for 2011. I can hardly believe the year has gone so fast. Rudy is tired just thinking about it! =-)

Some of the more exciting times from th passed year would be Kameryn's first trip to Disneyland and our first ever Family reunion. I still am boggled by the fact that I have married kids, and that we have to plan a year in advance to get together. We also had a big change when Jake and Samantha and Kameryn moved in with us this summer. Big changes, but all for the better. Rudy is home for the winter, and we are planning next years activities. In fact, very few days go by that we don't mention going to Michigan in April, hoping to go to Disneyland next Fall to take Kam to Car's Land, and Jaki and Richard's impending move to Portland next winter. Family truly is what it is all about!

Busy Fall Y'all

We have had some fun things happen so far this fall. Isabelle was chosen as Freshman class Homecoming attendant. She was so excited! She and her friend Jordan looked great that night and had fun for a bit at the dance. It is kind of weird to be only 14 and go to a date dance, but they sure looked the part.

Diana has also been enjoying school alot. She was chosen as the stage manager for South Pacific, which is exactly what she wanted. It helps to be the teacher's pet =-) She also is taking photography in school and has taken some amazing pictures, this is one of my favorites.

Haha, Just Kidding, but I love this picture!! Her grandma gave her this hat for her birthday and she is in love with it. She is amazing!

I have to say, this has been one of our best summer/fall changes. I have enjoyed watching the trees change slowly and feeling the nights get cooler. I took this picture walking down my driveway, and it sums up how beautiful it is right now.

We have been so busy with school, and getting ready for winter and keeping Kam occupied, that it has helped the time go by faster until Rudy will be home. I can't wait to see him in just a couple of weeks. It is the only reason I look forward to winter =-) Hopefully it will not be too deep or too cold.

By the way, all of the other kids are great. If the Tigers make it to the World Series, Jade and Dan are going to go to a game. Jake is working at home Depot and really enjoying it. Jaki and Richard are waiting for him to finish at ISU in the spring, and Jaki just got her Paraoptometric certification and she is very proud of that, and we are of her too! Sam is working hard at school and at her job. She is loving college life too. As for me and Kam, we are loving being together and playing. Life is good!

My Whole Reason For Being

There is nothing in this world that I love more than my family.

I have been so blessed to raise the most amazing kids and watch them become vibrant, intelligent, fun and loving people. We recently had them all home for one incredible week, and I can't thank them enough for making that happen for me. I wish every person could feel the kind of love and joy that I feel for and from my family. We wouldn't have the problems in the world that we do if we could only love and respect everyone as if they were part of our family. We would want them to suceed in all their endeavors as well as to find love and happiness and especially peace in their own lives.

How grateful I am for the person I have been able to become because I have loved unconditionally and with abandon. Because I have loved someone more than myself and put their needs above my own, I now know that service to others brings true joy to the server. Because of my family I want to be better and love more.

Finally, Some Results!

   It has been really frustrating to feel like I was doing so much and getting nowhere! But now, after two months, I am finally losing pounds and inches. I am fitting into clothes that I actually had given my daughters because they were too tight, and people are starting to ask if I am losing weight because it shows. Yay Me!! I am still jog-walking 3 days a week, and now I am doing Pilates Yoga and walking 3 miles 3 days a week as well. I feel healthy and it feels great!
I am excited for all of my kids to be home this coming week, because I know the gals will come with me on walks and to my yoga class. They are so supportive and amazing. Jade gets in her trips to the gym, Jaki bikes to work regularly, and Sam has been diligently trying to lose the extra baby fat. They are amazing. I can't wait to spend time with them because they make me feel so good, strong, and happy.
   I also get to look forward to seeing my lover man! I miss Rude so much when he's away. I can't believe he has been gone 6 weeks already, I guess I have been able to keep myself pretty busy so I didn't dwell on his being away. I also can't believe jake will be here too. We have seen him more in the last 6 months than we did in the 5 years he's was in the Marines and I love it!
   Kameryn, the light of my life will be here with us for 3 weeks, it is going to be so hard to say goodbye to him and his mom after that. I will be enjoying every second with my family. They are what life is all about!

I Beat My Time!!

The first ever running of the Downey Lazy 5K was a success! Of course, Angie and I were the only participants, but we got a lot out of it! We decided, why pay to run in someone elses race! So we made up our own and it was perfect!

I ran it this morning at 42min.50sec. Beating my original time of just over 45min.! I know it is not great, as my friend did it in 33min, but I feel so good that I can at least jog more than half now, because I could only walk it when I started. We have decided to do it the first Saturday of every month hopefully through September or October, weather permitting. Each month we will just strive to beat our own time. Now I see why my son loved track sooo much. It doesn't matter what anyone else is doing, it is only between you and your best!

I have to now admit that the only prep I did this week was a one mile jog on Monday. Just think how much better I could have done if I'd given it the effort I should have. I will be soo much more diligent about it now.

In other news, Rude has gone back to work, and all the kids will be here in 3 weeks! School is out, and it is going to be 75 degrees today!! Life is GREAT!!!

Only 2 Weeks To Go!

   I am sooo not ready for my 5K! I am trying to be dilligent about training now that Rude has gone back to work. My running buddy has even started a Yoga club on our walking days (She is on Fire!) so hopefully I can shape up my old, likes to be round, belly while I am at it. I did see improvement in my mile time, I am at 14 min. instead of 16, but if I don't get that in the 10 range, I will be running alone. Work, work, work!
   It is weird not having my honey here. I keep busy now that it is spring and there is a lot to do outside on the farm, but I don't enjoy it without Rude. I will have a smashing great garden, and lovely flower beds and lawn, but it would be better if he were here working beside me.
   I have to say, the missionaries did an awesome job of getting my last four trees in. I can't believe that I actually have a mini-orchard. I have always wanted fruit trees, now I have 14 of them. I have a mix of pears, plums, apples, cherries, peaches, and apricots. When they are all producing in a few years, my falls will be very busy, I will have to start teaching canning so people will come and help as they learn. Hmmmm that's a good idea!
   Anyway, we are off to Relief Society and a Choir concert tonight, the 8th grade party tomorrow, and then to see Pirates Of The Caribbean, On Stranger Tides on Friday!! Yay!

Just Another Update

   I am still going to do a 5K, but it will be closer to home. It is called the Crazy Pancreas Run and it is to help with funding medical costs for a little guy here locally. Last week was ridiculous, because Rudy was getting ready to scoot, so I never took the time or had the energy to run, and the week before that I was fighting a cold. I really have to beat feet now to get ready. I told my running buddy that she will be leaving me in the dust because she has been so stalwart in her preperation.
   Around the family, Jade and Dan just made their way to Niagra Falls for their anniversary. I am so jealous, I know they had a blast. Jaki and Richard are great, Richard is out of school for the summer, and he has all kinds of plans for his free time. Jake is looking into housing in and around Pocatello. Samantha is looking at going to ISU this fall and he wants to be close to Kameryn, so if she moves up here so does he, and if she stays in Riverside he will move closer. Santa Barbara is a lot farther away than it seemed. Diana and Isabelle are great. Soon school will be out, and though Diana is elated, Isabelle thinks her life is almost over. She ran for Freshman Class VP and will find out if she won on the 19th. She also belongs to the service club which will have activities over the summer, so she will find ways to hang with her friends. Diana on the other hand lets her friends come hang out here so she doesn't have to go anywhere.
   Rudy is in AK and hopefully will be to work soon. I had him home for 6 months, but it feels like it was only 2 minutes when he leaves. I am so glad he will be home the 1st of July to see all of the kids and his mom and pop. Of course, he is really saddest about missing his dog. She is enormous and loves him to death. He is afraid she will forget him, and that the girls and I will ruin all of his training and she will be a complete bum like our other dogs.

5K Here I Come!

I have decided to run a 5K! I saw a flyer for a half marathon (that's 13.1 miles to those of us who are counting) and I called my gal pal and she reluctantly said she'd do it with me. Well, today my sweet husband and I decided to go for a drive and see just how far that was. Wow! It would make a circle around our valley! So, after much deliberating with myself and my fat tired body, I have lowered my goal to a 5K that will take place in May. In fact, there is a series of 5 run/walks throughout the summer here locally and there is a discount if you sign up for all 5. They range from 5K to 10K to half marathon to full marathon and even a double marathon if you are so inclined.

And so tomorrow I will start my 7 week training program that promises to have me walk/jogging my way through a 5k in time for the M.A.D. Marathon in Idaho Falls. The marathon sponsors in return have promised that for my nominal entrance fee, ($25), I will receive a t-shirt and a medal no matter how long it takes me to finish. Seeing as it is only 3.2 miles, I hope to finish in 35min. I do hope to climb to the top of Oxford Peak this summer with my daughter and her husband, so I think this is a great way to start preparing for that.

I wonder if there is a website for how to prepare to climb to the top of Oxford Peak, probably, there is one for everything else. I hope that starting out with a specific goal and a good friend by my side that I will refrain from quitting on myself. I find it becomes a habit, and I don't care for it.

What An Amazing Vacation!!

We had a fantastic time at Disneyland! We met Samantha and Sandy and Kameryn the first morning, and Jake came later that afternoon! Even the drizzling rain couldn't dampen our spirits that first day. We are so grateful that we have these opportunities to get together as a family and make such special memories!

Sandy's poncho turned the stroller into a mini tent for Kam and all our stuff. They hadn't been to Disneyland for years, so a lot had changed, and of course the little guy was overwhelmed by all that was going on around him.

Once Jake arrived, Kameryn was in heaven. He had his two favorite people as well as a fan club that couldn't get enough of every little thing he did! "Say Cheese" never seems to get old!

Crowded, yes, but sunny and warm and enjoyable just the same.

Guess what?! Jake doesn't quite fit in the caves on Tom Sawyer's Island, but we made him go anyway!

Well Soon We Are Off!

     Only one more day and we will be leaving for Disneyland! Tonight we will be at the high school for the play. It worked out that Diana is the stage manager and Issy is helping with costuming. They are having so much fun! I am really excited to see it. Then Saturday morning we are outa here! We will be hanging out with Jake, Kameryn and Sam for three days! I am also glad to be going with my mom and Ken,and Sierra and Con, it has been a long time since we've been together.
     I am really looking forward to staying in the Grand Californian Hotel at Disneyland! Thanks Mom! We also get to see World Of Color for the first time and we'll be able to see Fantasmic, the fireworks and parades! I can't wait! I really miss the days going all together as a family, but those memories are always with me when I am there. Maybe that is why I am so happy when we go, I have a whole lifetime of memories at Disneyland and they all come flooding back the second I walk in.
     To my two older girls, I will miss you. We have to find a way to do a family vacation, because it has been far too long! It makes July seem even farther away.
     I will put the pictures on photobucket when I get home for everyone to see!

Yard Sale!!!

I am sooo busy getting ready for an amazing Yard Sale this coming weekend. I have been Spring Cleaning, really more like purging. =-) I have cleaned out my attic and basement and closets with the help of my girls, and I have filled my livingroom with all kinds of stuff that we don't need or use anymore. Rudy is even getting into the spirit, so there will be guns and accessories for sale too! I hope the weatherman is right about the weather this weekend, because we are going for it! Look for our camp trailer on the side of Highway 91 next to The Mart Friday March 11th 12-4 and Saturday March 12th 10-2.

What Is Up With My Scale?!

     So, I am avoiding my scale until Monday, and I can hear it calling to me from where I hid it in my closet! I am not sure why I am so obsessed with it. I feel good, I feel better in my jeans. In fact, I am wearing jeans I haven't been able to wear since July. So why does it matter to me what the scale says?! I am excercising almost every day. I have always believed in the day of rest, so I don't excersise on Sundays, and I try to keep my food in check a little more on that day.

     Today when I finished logging my food, my fitness pal told me I wasn't getting enough calories because I have slipped into eating even less than 1200 calories because I don't feel hungry. It is a nice break that excercise kills my appetite, but I still want my desert even if I can't face dinner. I need to choose more healthy options to insure I am getting the nutrients I need, and I will be adding a multi-vitamin starting tomorrow. Do you know those things have like 30 calories in them?! I didn't. =-)

     Well, I will be back on Monday after I dig out my scale. I think I will go pile blankets on it so I can't hear it calling out anymore!

I Am On Track

I can't believe it, I have made it almost a full week without a sugar binge! I have done really well to continue to have little servings of the things I like. I have had a small peice of cherry chocolate cake and a sliver of peach pie and lots of berries sweetened with sugar, but I track my calories every day on myfitnesspal.com and I have not gone over my goal once. I set a goal of 1200 calories per day, and I even had some people tell me that is way to low. My BMR, or resting calorie use, is 2300. I read that if I just took in 1000 less calories each day I could lose 1/4 lb per week. If I want to lose more than that I also have to excersise. The calorie calculator counts down, subtracting from my goal what I take in and adding to the goal when I expel calories through excersise. It really helps keep me focused. I also have tried to get involved on the message boards and reading the articles and tips. I even have my daughter as a pal now so that we can work on it together. I feel empowered!

I Can Do This!!

I won't be posting every day. But I did make some changes today that I believe will help. I upped my walking pace from just under to just over 4mph and I did 15 min. of that at a good incline. I also will be shrinking my portion sizes (because I don't want to give up any of the yummy foods I like) and I will try to choose healthier foods.
I have learned that the scale is not my friend either. I give up when I see those numbers not moving or bouncing up and down. I am trying to stay off of it, weighing myself only once or twice a week.

I Am On A Weight Loss Kick!

     I have decided that I want to go public about my desire to lose weight. I think that I might be better about sticking to it, if I think about everyone knowing if I fail. I have been my own worst enemy when it comes to my body and my weight. I really want to lose 12 lbs. before I head for California the end of March. I am tired of feeling sluggish and tired, sausaged into my jeans, and generally unhappy with my physical being. I have joined myfitnesspal.com and I encourage anyone else who wants to take up this challenge with me to do the same. I have added my weight loss ticker to my blog so I am accountable to everyone who reads it and hopefully, it will continue to show how hard I am working and how great the results are =-)
     I am committing to 1 hour of 4mph walking on the tread mill 5 days per week. I also intend to do some cross training in the form of core strengthening yoga and weights 3 days a week. I also will be using the calorie counter and nutrition information from the web site to help me out. I learned my BMR and BMI on the website, and got an idea of how many calories and what type of calories will get me the best results.
     I plan on this being a very positive experience, and I would love to have some gal pals to share with, so if you are interested, sign up on the website and choose me as a friend, and we'll do it together!!

It's Been A While!

I feel guilty because I haven't updated in forever. Since Jade just did her second update since my last one I figured I better get going. We spent Christmas at home with Jake and Kameryn and Samantha. It is true that grandkids can melt your heart! We had such a great time.

Here is our little man in his Aunt Issy's boots. He wanted to go outside and these were handy so he put them on and said "Ishy ouside?"

We left the day after Christmas for Miami. Rudy, Issy, Diana and I stayed for 9 days at my mom-in-laws. It was so wonderful. We had a pig roast for New Years Eve with tons of family. We sure miss them all so much!

Last weekend Isabelle got to redo her room for her birthday. She really wanted bright colors, and she got them. Everyone says it makes their eyes bleed, but she loves it!

We also got a new puppy. Our neighbors found her in the ditch near their house and asked us to find a home for her. We found one alright =-)

She is so smart, Rudy already has her potty trained and sleeping in her own bed all night.

We named her Chena after one of our favorite places in Alaska.

I guess that about covers everything we've been up to lately. I want to send a Happy valentine's to my kids, I love you all and wish you strawberry pancakes and whip cream dreams!

But We Sure Make It Look Fun!

We were so lucky to get to spend the last few weekends, before Jade and Dan moved, with them and the rest of the family. We spent Halloween together, and carved pumpkins. The ones below were Diana's artistic endeavors. She's such a show off =-)

Jade and Isabelle trick-or-treated at the trunk or treat in town. Dan and I were along for the ride too. In fact, the girls completely filled the pumpkin bucket with candy. It was fun, and Michelle took us to the secret hideout for caramel apples!

The guys are taking a much deserved rest. They played frisbee and jumped on the tramp with Sally's kids. the weather was beautiful. Upper 60's and sunny the end of October. That was a first here in our corner of the world.

We had an early thanksgiving dinner because Jade and Dan would be in their new home in Michigan by the time the real one rolled around. It was so nice to have so much of the family come to say goodbye.

After everyone was gone, the kids all worked on a craft project that jade had come up with. it was a fun way to spend the evening.

The last thing on the check list before the kids left was pictures of Jade in a cap and gown. She won't be here when she actually graduates in December, so we faked it a little and went around campus and took some pictures for her. Rudy and I are so proud of her for following through and graduating from college. She is such an amazing woman who never stops amazing us with her strength and determination.

We will miss you two! We also wish you all the happiness and prosperity you deserve in your new home! Hurry and get that guest room ready, I don't know how long I can wait before I will want to come and visit!

I am not even going to try to catch up =-)
I will just start with last weekend. We started our weekend in a luxury hotel in Salt Lake (Yay Priceline!) and ended it just hanging around Lagoon, as you can see!

The bathroom was neat with all the tile work, and the lobby is amazing!

Lagoon is all dressed up for Halloween and the decorations are pretty amazing for a little hick park.

Anchor Point and Homer

The coolest thing about Anchor Point, Alaska is the crazy amount of bald eagles. We stayed in a little cabin in the mountains and when you went down to the shore, just a few miles, you were surrounded by bald eagles feeding on halibut and salmon. We walked the shore and picked up shells and rocks and watched the eagles.

This is the Hotel at the very end of the Homer Spit, a long narrow peice of land that stretches five miles from the shore out into the Kenai Bay.

Wow, Alaska!

This is the border south of Calgary, Alberta, Canada

This is what the weather looked like the first morning in Canada. We stayed in a campground in the truck. Rudy and I in the back and Banana and Bissy in the front seats. Bissy really likes the Petro Canada gas stations for some reason. The following pictures are from the West Edmonton Mall, which is supposed to be the largest in the world.

Canada is a funny place. They have really big beavers, and as you can tell from the time stamp on the next pictures, the sun stays out way past my bedtime.

We've been running around like cray people! I have two training seminars in Salt Lake next week. One for Riviera Maya and the other for Sandals, it should be fun, but it is tough to run so much. Tomorrow I am driving my Grandma to Morgan for a baby shower and Sunday I have to teach a lesson at church. We only have 4 weeks until we leave for Alaska and I am so excited but nervous about being away at the same time! We picked up a steer on Monday night that ran away on Tuesday. He turned up the next day after the sheriff's office had been called on him for ruining the neighbors garden area and relieving himself on her deck (Sorry Neighbor). So here is a picture of him wth Busy. I keep telling her not to get attached but...

Banana had a little shindig last night. They seemed to have a great time...

I'm not sure why putting make-up on guys is fun, but it made them laugh for a while.

Hope the guys don't get too upset about the picks, but it makes me giggle too.

Well, Rude and I are home alone because Banana and Busy went to their big sis' house for the weekend. I know they think we don't have any fun if they are not around, but I think we all know that though they are missed when they're gone, fun is happening. =-)

Last night Busy's cat had kittens. It has been a long time since we had baby anything born around here, so I kind of enjoyed watching and helping. One of them came out backwards, so I had to give a little pull. Eewwww!

I have been so busy lately. I have been learning a lot about the travel business and working hard to gain clients. It is tough in such a small area, but little by little, right? Rude and I will be going to two seminars in Salt Lake in a couple of weeks. One should get us a free trip to Sandals, I hope!

We are going to Alaska in June for 4 weeks. I am excited but nervous at the same time. It has been a long time since we have been away from home that long. We are taking our dogs with us and my girlfriend will water my yard and feed my cats for us. I am so glad we don't have indoor cats anymore! We are driving our truck up and will be sightseeing all over the whole state, so it should be an amazing trip.

Well, I guess I really don't have much to say, but I am trying to keep things fresh so I will say TTFN!

OK I have been blog slacking again I know!

We really have been busy around here, but no excuses.

Everything is wonderful, really. Jaki and Richard are married and so happy. Jade and Dan are also happily living the dream and Jake is safely back n the USofA. Banana and Busy are sailing through school (I can't wait for summer vacation) and Rudy is home with us where he belongs.

I have a facebook page and I am afraid I have given it more attention than the blog lately because it is easier to load pictures on. But I will try and be good and keep up for those of the family who don't facebook. =)

We are trying to jump start some business for my travel agency, so I am training Rudy on a few things and he is teaching me his amazing marketing skills. We are attending a lot of travel seminars, like last week, we went to Salt Lake and learned all about Italy and had the most amazing food! Next month it will be a Sandals workshop, Can't wait!

We are planning a family trip to Alaska in June. We will drive up and stay a few weeks and drive back, bringing Rudys '56 Bronco with us. He is very excited. I don't thnk we will be doing any other traveling as a family until next spring. I want to take all of the kids to Disneyland. I think it would be a blast!

Well, gotta jet, we are off to Grandma's house. (No Seriously!)

A few weeks ago we took all of the kids to Salt Lake City for dinner and to see the lights. We had a fantastic time even though it was freezing! We started out at TGIFriday's then went to Gardener Village, then Temple Square and ended with hot cocoa at a convenience store.

Each of the couples took a turn smoching in front of the temple. I won't publish the kids, but Rudy and I are exibitionists. =-)

We Are Ready For Christmas!

I invited Jade and Jaki and their men to come and have lunch and make ornaments last Saturday. I made salt dough and gave each girl a set of Christmas cookie cutters and dish towels as well as some antique bird ornaments and a large ornament. Busy and Banana also received large ornaments. We made the salt dough ornaments and the paint jobs on them are amazing. We also made North Pole signs out of popcycle sticks that I really like. The pics are from my cell phone so they aren't great, but you'll get the idea of how creative this group is.

This is Richard's bear. I think it was a favorite. he says he's not a big fan of holidays, but we're pretty sure we can bring him around.

I actually put up the tree and decorations more than a week ago. I know I'm sick, but it helps me feel like it won't be long until Rude gets home. Besides, we needed somewhere to hang our ornaments.

Ok, I am a blog slacker according to my friend Mindy so I'm updating it now. I really don't have any pictures. I broke my camera during the fair, and I am too lazy to shop for a new one. I consider technology shopping to be Rudy's job since I take out the garbage.

We Had the most amazing Labor Day Weekend!

It started a little early with my in-laws and my son coming on Thursday, and Rudy on Friday. By Saturday the whole family was together, and we had Thanksgiving dinner for Jake. It was yummy, and it was so great to be together just laughing and playing games.

On Sunday, we all drove to Star Valley, Wyoming for my brother's wedding. It was simple and sweet and we all wish them the very best.

Between the wedding and the dutch oven dinner my dad took some family pictures for us so I could make a large one for my family room wall, so here are some of the pictures.

I was told to get the blog updated already! So here goes, our summer in a nutshell.

Back in July Banana, Busy and I celebrated the 4th here at home. Banana was the official firework lighter, and we also got to enjoy all of the illegal fireworks going off over Downey.

yah, She's weird, but very loveable. =>

The fair was the first week of August, and we had a good time. Beside the booth I also was in charge of the kids games. Thank goodness I had a few awesome ladies and all of the girls to help me run them. We also had regular visits from this puppy, the girls were crazy about her so they hid her in our booth all of the time.

August 1st Rudy was in charge of a pig roast for our ward. He called on Dan to help him and they made the most beautiful roast pig I've ever seen!
All of the kids enjoyed being home for that, except Jake, but he'll be here this week and we can't wait to see him, it's been a whole year!

Just a week before school started the girls and I went on the Heber Creeper with my aunt, uncle, and grandparents. We had an amazing day with all of them and definately hope to spend more time with them next time they visit.

It really was a great summer though we didn't do all that much. I will miss it now that school has started again and it's already getting getting dark early.

We went to Redfish for 9 days recently. The weather here in Idaho has been a little on the wet side so it was pretty wet the first few days and pretty cold after that. The guys at the dock told us the lake temperature was 53 degrees. Cold!! As always there was a huge group of us for different parts of the stay, but Banana, Busy, my mom and I were there the whole time

Busy and I did have one fantastic day though. We went on the 1/2 day horseback ride to the bench lakes. It was amazing and she was so happy to be on a horse. She says that next time we're going for a full day ride. I don't know if my butt can take it :] I don't have the pics from our ride yet, they were taken with my mom's camera.

There isn't much else going on, we're just enjoying our summer and waiting for Rude to get home for a visit. Jade and Dan are settling to married life, and Jake is waiting to head overseas in a few months. Jaki is having fun with friends and working. I guess that is all for now.

This Is the Life

Well the wedding is over, but it was a wonderful day!

It was really amazing to go through it all and enjoy all the happiness through the eyes of my daughter. Jade was absolutely radiant all day, and Dan had a smile from ear to ear every time he looked at her.
We are so grateful for all the friends and family that came to support the kids. There was a very large turn out so it was wonderful!
After all the fun was over and the family had gone home, Rude and I had a little vacation of our own. I took advantage of a travel agent appreciation at Disneyland and we went for 3 days and stayed in the Disneyland Hotel.

The view from our room was amazing and spending time alone with my honey was even better! We wandered around the parks and ate like crazy and had a fantastic time just being together after so long apart. Unfortunately I had to drop him off at the airport on our way home. The work here in Downey won't be starting until late summer, so off he went to go back to work in Alaska

The wedding is only a couple of weeks away now. Saturday May 9th in the Salt Lake Temple. Rudy will be home very soon, a week in fact and I can't wait! After the wedding and when all of the family has gone home he and I are off to Disneyland for a few days. We're calling it a honeymoon! We're staying in a King Suite in the Disneyland Hotel. Being a travel agent has it's advantages!

We're still hoping that Rudy will be able to work from home for a couple of years. There is a substation being built just two miles from our house, and if he can get on the job there, he will be able to stay at home for the duration of the job. I am almost afraid to hope for it. It has been at least 6 years since he started having to travel for work because our area could not sustain the man power available. What a blessing it would be to be a full time family again.

We are leaving for Redfish Lake the19th of June and we'll stay until the 28th, so anyone who wants to join us, come on up. The girls can't wait, and we are so excited that Jade and Dan and Jaki will all be coming for part of the time, as well as other friends and family.

Banana's Turn

I had to do a blog for Banana too. She's so easy going, and looking through pictures of her I realized she's really well rounded too. She likes all kinds of different things, though there is nothing she likes more than Star Wars right now.

She loves Disneyland and is always plotting with her Grandma to squeeze in a trip.
Here she is on the Autopias. She was my driver so I could take pictures, but I had to be careful of the corners. :)

She is also her dad's hunting buddy. I'm a Disney girl to the extreme. I could never shoot a deer unless I or my children were starving, so it amazes me that Diana really enjoys shooting and hunting with her dad. In fact, she's the only one of the 5 to go out hunting.

Banana would move with me to that deserted island I dream about as long as someone would send new Star Wars novels regularly. She loves the sun and the surf and though she's happy at home, she dreams of traveling the world. Works for me!

She Looked So Happy On The Beach...
You wouldn't know it from the picture, but Busy is only truly happy in Idaho. I decided to dedicate today's blog to her. She is such a country bumpkin, she can have fun anywhere, but every night she would say, "I really miss home". She talks like a hick and loves rodeos and the fair more than life. I actually need someone to remind me now and then that I want to go home when we're on vacation because I would just keep wandering on. I'm glad that Busy keeps me grounded and reminds me that there is no place like home. So here are few of my favorite Busy moments right here in Southeast Idaho.

Sun And Fun In South Florida

Once again the Falcons are in Florida

We spent the day in Ft. Lauderdale and hung out at the beach for a bit. I got stung by a Man O War jelly fish. OUCH! But the girls had a great time and collected dead jelly fish and shells. Bissy wouldn't go in above her ankles because she'd watched a shark movie the night before, but Banana had a ball in the big waves.

Here's my guy! He complains about how hot it is down here, but he toughs it out for me.

We went to Alabama Jack's near the Keys for lunch one day. What a seafood paradise! It's always fun to sit on the water and watch lunch swim by before you eat.

We'll be here through Christmas, but home for New Years. I can't even think about going back to Icy Idaho. I really miss the family here too when we leave. Unfortunately 3 of the kids aren't with us, so that's a drag too, but we love them and they have other important people in their lives too so maybe next Christmas.

I really don't have any new photos to post, but I wanted to update a little and let everyone know how things are going here. We have been really busy lately with Rudy home and so many things to take care of before winter really hits. I am so glad that it is not like last year. We were in full swing before mid-October. We have only had 1 snow flurry so far. Yay! We are getting really excited for our Christmas in Miami. When I was younger, it didn't seem possible to have Christmas without snow. Now, I know that it really is a matter of being with people you love. Jade will spend her first Christmas with her soon to be in-laws, and so will Jaki. I really appreciate that the girls have found families that treat them so well. They are both so loving that they deserve to be accepted and loved well in return. We are hoping to see Jake over the holidays too, though his life is so far away from all of us. I don't like the feeling of being out of touch, but he must go on with his life in the best way for him.
I am so glad to have Banana and Busy always willing to go where ever and do what ever we feel like doing. The older they get I know it will get harder because school activities and friends become so important. But, for right now, we have more together memories to make. We will enjoy to seeing everyone in Florida though we will miss the family here at home. The holidays are always that way, you can never see everyone you'd like to, to tell them how much they mean to you and the impact they've had for good in your life. I guess that is what I want to do here. Friends and family near and far, I love all of you and I am so blessed to have such amazing people in my life. You all make me a better person with your example. Thank you for unconditional love, support and friendship. This message is especially for my children, you 5 are the most important things in the world to me. I have learned more and grown more as a human being from raising and loving you than I could have learned in 100 lifetimes without you. Thank You for putting up with me. Here come the holidays, Relax and Enjoy!

On Banana's birthday we went to the Pumpkin Walk.

It is really cool. They do all kinds of scenes where things are made out of pumpkins.
We had never been before, but I think it will have to be a tradition now.

Jade wrapped a bunch of random things from around her house as gifts. We took a trip to the new Twin Falls temple.

I took this picture as we were driving by and I can't believe how nice it came out. It is a very small temple, but it is so pretty. The houses around it are almost as big as it is.

Jaki, JD, Banana, Busy and I all went together for the open house. We made a day of it and did some shopping and took in a movie too. But, the temple was the highlight. I was a little disappointed that they rush you through so fast. I wanted to tell the kids about when they were sealed to us and different things, but there was no time for chit chat!

Here is our booth. That is my friends daughter. Notice all the chairs, usually they were full of teenagers. We had such a great time all week.

Be careful not to eat too many lick-a-stix. The results can be horrifying!

I love Downey sunsets! I have a whole file of them in the computer, but this one was a special treat during the softball game.

Have you ever seen a hog wash!

That is Sierra in the green about to pick up the piglet. She had to find the one with her number on it and put it in the barrel in the center, all while the fire hose sprayed them with foam! The girl in the center with her arms up had just won, but with all the screaming and foam, Sierra didn't know. She came in a close second.

I think she looks great!

It sure is fun for the kids though, especially when it's the grown-ups turn.

Summer In Idaho Is The Bomb!!

We had some fun at the queen contest last weekend. Bizzy's best friend Whitni competed for Junior Princess. It was fun. Her other friend Quince was Princess last year, so we have a pic of her in her crown and all that jazz too.

We Had our own private rodeo at a friend's arena. We had been told that Bullet never tired of bucking and that's why we should send him to the rodeo circuit. Tonight we actually had a young cowboy give him a try and it was a lot of fun.

There are a lot of pics today. I have been putting off the blog thing for a while due to lack of time, and I'm getting a lot of disgruntled phone calls. Today you get the works. First, for those of you who had forgotten what Rudy looked like without the dead mole on his face, Here you go!

Next we have the annual Father's Day water fight. It was really fun this year because all of the kids were there (except Jake, and we really do miss you son).

My grandma's best friend for almost 70 years was there too, and we had a great visit before things started getting crazy.

As you can see the girls have no fear of Grandpa's supreme fire power!And of course, I was completely unaware of the battle between the boyfriends as it raged right behind me. I blame the drugs really.

Next we have the pics of the house. It is finally getting sided. I know, I could cry too. The best part is the new windows and of course the fact that every bird in South East Idaho will no longer be living in my eaves.

We had some puppies for a while. 9 of them actually. I still can't believe we found homes for all of them. They were great and the girls were really sad to see them go. I was not sad, I had to clean up after them and buy their dog food. (In ridiculous amounts I might add)

We have also added some ducks and chickens to the farm. E-I-E-I-O They don't usually survive longer than a summer due to all of the hungry coyotes and foxes that also live on the farm, but they are a joy for the summer.

Bissy, Banana and I took my mom and Bissy's best friend to Disneyland and Las Vegas.

They had their hats signed by characters and I think they might have left a little som'n som'n on the Big Thunder seats, but we had a ball!!

We flew my mom home from Vegas, and spent the weekend swimming in the pools at the Tropicana and hanging out with Rudy. It was a great way to spend some quality time!

Oh, we also hit the beach for a bit, can't leave that out.
I also want to include some photos for the family. We stayed at my aunt's beautiful home and visited my great grandparent's graves at Rose Hills Cemetery. So these are for all the family that can't get out there.

Vegas Vacation!

I just got home after a 7 day vacation to Las Vegas to see Rudy!I drove down and even won a 3 night stay on a radio call in on my way, so instead of the 3 nights I planned to be there, I had 6. Rudy's cousin came for the week with her husband . He had to go to convention seminars each day, so she and I walked and visited almost every casino on the strip.

We had some amazing meals, and Mari and I sampled the treats at all the specialty hotels, like mousse and fruit tarts in Paris, and pizza in New York. The only disappointment was the gelato in Venice, I had to get my money back, Yuk!

I really did have a religious experience in the Bellagio Hotel. The chocolate fountain was more moving than words can express. I also had to take a picture of the wedding cake that Jaki won't be getting. =}

We had a great time and we even went out to see Hoover Dam, but we didn't take the dam tour, and I don't feel like uploading any dam pictures. You will just have to experience it for yourself.

WE'RE BACK!!

We have been offline at home for two months, but finally we are back from the dark ages!! Christmas has come and gone, and so have January and February. We have seen our son off to Iraq, and our daughter has announced her engagement. We've been trapped in the house by mountains of snow and now are struggling to wade through the mud! What a crazy long winter it has been.

Rudy and I spent a short weekend with Jake just 2 weeks ago and he showed us all around 29 Palms and we went to Palm Springs. Here are a few more pics.

It was wonderful for me to not only get to spend time with my guys, but also to go to someplace warm!! I had four glorious days with my honey who is working down in Vegas, so for me it was Heaven!

I've added Jaki's wedding site to my friends list so you can see her and her man. We bought her dress yesterday. You have to picture it in White. Can you believe that in Utah, the Mormon capital of the world, we had to buy a white prom dress to get it modest enough for the temple!

I can't find Jade's and the bridesmaids dresses. We found it at Dillards and the girls will be able to wear them to church and stuff too. They are sun dresses in white with pink and brown polka-dots and a pink sweater. If you haven't guessed, the wedding colors are pink and brown.
Banana and Busy will be wearing sun dresses too, but I'm thinking that Capri sets will be better for the reception since it will be in the city park here in Downey.
More info will follow later, but we're all still kicking here in Idaho!

Busy and Banana love winter, and snow and all that stuff. If the video and pictures are a little blurry, it's because they are taken through the windows because I don't go outside unless I have to! =}

The snow has come and gone, we've had days at 10 below and 45 above consecutive, but they have snow for Christmas and that's what counts for the kids. I'd just as soon be in Miami Where there's no mud and it stays above 70 degrees!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING

Wow, Turkey Day is already over. We had a great day here at home with our 4 daughters and our oldest brought her boyfriend too. We had such a nice day, dinner was yum and we had such great weather that we spent time outside and we even made Christmas ornaments. If anyone wants to know how to make them just ask, they're really easy. I just can't express how Thankful I am for my life! To all our friends and family out there, I'm thankful for every one of you. I have a truly blessed life and all of you have touched it in ways that have made it better. Happy Thanksgiving! I hope you found as much as I did to be thankful for. I also pray that you all look forward to celebrating the birth of the Savior and enjoy this season of giving, loving and joy.

4 For The Road

We just took a mini-vacation to Bryce Canyon, Arches National Park and, drum roll please, the Grand Canyon. With Randy as our tour guide we made it there in no time.

Red Rock Canyon was our first stop and it was pretty cool. Cold actually come to think of it! There is a really great trail all along the edge of the canyon with some funny rock formations along the way. The girls really liked it.

We really liked Bryce Canyon, it's beautiful. Of course, it was cold there, about 37 I think, but it was early in the morning and the sun made the rocks look unreal!

The Grand Canyon is of course amazing! But the girls found other points of interest.
Arches Park was also so AMAZING we saw Delegate Arch and some arches that look like eyes spying on you! If you can see it we got a picture of the most famous arch which we got from the view point!

Another adventure! Ruddy and I just went to Mexico on a Royal Caribbean Cruise with my Dad, Step-Mom and Step-Sisters. We had a great time.

We visited Cabo San Lucas and went to Cabo Wabo, Sammy Hagars bar.

In Mazatlan we rode atv's along the beaches which are huge an beautiful.

And in Puerta Vallarta we rode horses into the mountains and even down the river, you'll have to check out the video.

What a blast. Of course it was hot and sunny and I was in Heaven!! We're planning a trip to Costa Rica next year, I know that will be fun too.
